Abstract

Contains a petition of John Simmons of Surry County to Lieutenant Governor Alexander Spotswood asking for permission to take up one acre of land on each side of the Buckhorne Swamp to build a mill. According to the petition, this land lies within the six-mile tract laid out for the Nottoway Indians.
