Abstract

Contains proposals offered to the Lieutenant Governor by the officers of His Majesty's revenue for preventing the undue practice of holding land upon entries or surveys. The officers propose that surveyors of the frontier counties give public notice at the respective county courthouses. The officers also propose that any person who obtains leave to take up land must deliver a copy of the grant to the Auditor, that the original be delivered with a full number of rights to the surveyor of the county within three months, and that if the survey is not completed within one year from the date of the grant, the grant is void. Lastly, the officers propose that the surveyors receive no entries without rights unless His Majesty grants a release thereof in the counties of Brunswick & Spotsylvania.
