Abstract

Contains a petition of Charles Chiswell to Lieutenant Governor William Gooch asking that no patent issue on a survey for four hundred acres of land lying in Hanover County on the Contrary River. According to the petition, this land was surveyed on 1 March 1725 for Thomas Dickinson of King William County.
