Abstract

Contains a petition of John Lear of Nansemond County to Lieutenant Governor William Gooch asking that no patent may issue on a survey for 195 acres of land lying in the upper part of Nansemond County. According to the petition, the land was surveyed on 7 November 1727 for Richard Brothers.
