Abstract

Contains a summons from William Robertson to the sheriff of Caroline County for the appearance of John Martin before the governor & Council regarding four hundred acres of land lying on the south side of the South River in King William County, now Caroline County, which was certified to be lapsed from Henry Armistead and petitioned for by John Martin. According to the summons, George Woodroff applied for a grant for the land by reason of John Martin's neglecting to sue out a patent in due time.
