Abstract

Contains a list of tithables allowed to tend tobacco between Aquia and Quantico. The tithables list sometimes includes the age of the individuals and often includes the names of slaves. The list also provides the quantity of tobacco plants. The last page includes a different list providing the name of tobacco tenders, the names of individuals "between ten & sixteen," and the amount of tobacco plants. The names of Charles Payton & Joshua Davis are at the end of the list as "counters." Both lists were copied by George Mason, Clerk of the Court.
