Abstract

Contains a proclamation for maintaining His Majesty's juridiction & rights in and around Pittsburgh & its dependencies. The proclamation requires & commands all civil officers to support the legal jurisdiction agreeable to their commissions in all cases in and about Pittsburgh. The proclamation also enjoins all sheriffs to use due diligence in the collection of quit rents, notwithstanding the exparte surveys made by the proprietors of Pennsylvania. Lastly, the proclamation orders all civil & military officers to oppose any attempt by the proprietaries of Pennsylvania to obstruct the jurisdiction established by law in and about the territory near Pittsburgh claimed by Virginia.
