Abstract

Contains an account of her Majesty's revenue of two shillings for every hogshead of tobacco exported from the colony of Virginia from 25 October 1704 to 25 April 1705. The account includes salaries for various public positions including collectors, William Blathwayt as Auditor General, the Solicitor of Virginia Affairs, Edward Ross as Gunner, and others. The account also provides the names of naval officers including William Willson, Miles Cary, Gawin Corbin, & Hancock Custis and their accounts of port duties collected by them in their respective districts. The account was copied by William Robertson, Clerk of the Council, and signed by Governor Francis Nicholson.
