Abstract

Contains a petition of inhabitants of the port & town of Hampton to Lieutenant Governor Alexander Spotswood asking that a patent may be granted for 2,520 square feet at the end of Kings Street to erect a wharf. According to the petition, George Walker obtained a patent for one thousand square feet fronting Kings Street where he established a wharf and demands unfair wharfage.
