Abstract

Contains a message from Peter Beverley, Speaker of the House of Burgesses, to Alexander Spotswood, Lieutenant Governor, requesting a declaration of war against the Tuscarora Indians for their hostilities against Her Majesty's subjects in North Carolina. The House of Burgesses also asks that the governor enter into a treaty with the government of North Carolina for that purpose. Lastly, the House requests an estimate of the charge for carrying on that service for six months.
